Answer to terraforming planets and the moon, so why don't we use it?

the obvious way to terraform lifeless planets or moons like mars and our moon is and has always been apparent to anyone living in the south. most southerners can look out the window and see the solution. plain and simply KUDZU. kudzu grows 14 inches a night and it roots practically everywhere it touches the ground, you can't kill it to save your life. another ozone/co2 loving plant is poison ivy and poison oak, they are both like Kudzu, rapid spreaders and practically impossible to kill. planting these three plants in different areas of the moon and mars would almost assure complete covereage by the time colonists arrive.thru photosynthesis oxygen will increase in the atmosphere allowing for the introduction of other species of hardy harsh environment plants and eventually insects to help in decomposition and soil cultivation. all of this would eventually lead to more oxygen in their atmospheres and the introduction of a larger variety of plants and small amphibians and reptiles. so you think this plant will grow on the moon with no atmosphere and temperatures that drop to around -100 degrees celsius?
Reply:People have been discussing this for decades - one big issue is getting people to Mars. We're spending so much $ on other stuff (military spending, etc.) that NASA has taken a big budgetary hit. But yes if we don't destroy ourselves first, we'll cover the polar ice caps on Mars with dark-colored plants that will absorb heat, partially melt them to sustain the plant-life, and in turn generate oxygen into the atmosphere.





We owe our lives to a planet that does support life - you would think we shouldn't be doing so many things to destroy our fragile atmosphere!
Reply:Since I live in the South and also deal with kudzu--I'm not entirely sure your joking! :)





(for those who aren't familiar with kudzu, think of the worst weed problem you've ever seen. Now imagine the weeds growing as fast as bamboo--except its a vine like ivy that crawls all over everything. Spray it with weedkiller--chop it down--its back in days. No kidding--its that bad. In fact, its even worse.)
Reply:I think you got the answer already -KUDZU only grows in the south (of the Northern hemisphere) where it's warm. It does not grow in Canada much less on the north poles where it's cold. Mars and the Moon are way colder then the north pole. Even KUDZU won't grow there.
