Salmon engineered to spawn Trout - Is it good or bad?

I just read this article on the net. Scientists have developed a procedure to alter newly hatched salmon to grow up to produce a specific type of trout. They are looking at it as a potential way to increase populations of endangered species. While I find the study fascinating, I remember the infamous Kudzu vine and how man's best intentions can alter the ecosystem. I have mixed feelings - what are yours?

Here's a link to the article:

Salmon engineered to spawn Trout - Is it good or bad?
Once Upon A Time there was natural order and nature flurished rightly.

Then Man came....

The End!

Saw this too and just shook my head.

We really need to quit playing God and messing with Nature!

I think this is wrong, as well as cloning, i know, two different things, but i am against this kind of thing.

You're right, it can mess up the eco-system.
Reply:It could be good for producing more food sources. Yet they could also get bad consequences.
Reply:Just because you can, doesn't mean you should still holds weight for some, but not for the creative world of science, they are definitely a one tracked mind. They remind me of a drug manufacturing company gone wild ,in the wilderness of life and all of us are caught up in their network. They laid claims to the world and now, philosophy gets to write about how science has made different species of life and thought. There is also the science of religions and the blind watchers, the tunnel builders for quick escape when a claim falls through. The fascinating world view of those who use science, amazing grains of truth. Thanks for the question.
Reply:you bet ye, hopefully they get cheaper in the market.
